Theo SOlis
Theo has never fit in. A smart ass Latino kid whose horrible migraines and seizures always set him apart from the mainstream crowd. Funneling his creativity into photography, he pays the bills doing social media for a fancy bottle service club downtown. He dreams of finding a community of fellow artists, a sense of belonging. He heeds Breukelen’s siren call, and is soon drawn into the world of Broken Land and its many secrets.
Russ
Theo’s friend and guide to life at Broken Land, Russ is a gangly Asian raver. The light guy at Broken Land with the soul of poet and a world weary attitude. When he’s not writing and mimeographing haikus at WERK!, he can be found in the rafters of Broken Land, dropping them on the crowd. Prone to visions like his mentor Deadalus, his abilities allow him to leave his body completely, soaring in his winged Aura far and wide.
DEADALUS
The bearded ringmaster of the circus that is Broken Land. A former architect turned DJ, the modern shaman is brilliant, mysterious, and at least a little crazy. His visions led him to the mind-expanding drug Vermillion, inspired him to build his high tech sound and light System and construct the modern playground Broken Land itself. The leader and most powerful of the club’s super powered inner circle known as the Mercury 7. He has the ability to extend his Aura into the physical world and warp reality around him.
ARIA
The free-spirited aerialist at Broken Land, a goth pixie who is both Deadalus’ muse and Theo’s crush-at-first-sight. Her Aura extends her perceptions out like a web, making her a super empath with heightened senses and reflexes. She can be found dancing barefoot on top of the speaker stacks, performing death-defying rope bondage acts while hung from the ceiling, or just knitting in middle of the dance floor.
MINUS
Broken Land’s king of the Broken, a rich white boy as slick as he is psychotic. Jeweler by day and the club’s head promoter by night, he can mentally control anyone who has his drugs in their system. A trust fund puppet master always surrounded by a cadre of sycophants and followers.
Manny
The clubs’s sweet but dimwitted drug dealer. He’s a short Dominican muscle boy who loves nothing more than his My Little Pony collection. With the ability to syphon electricity into his Aura, the bigger and stronger he gets, the darker it becomes.
Sharon
The androgynous black gatekeeper of Broken Land. Fabulous, mysterious and quick with a one liner, Sharon is almost as powerful as Deadalus. Her ability to pull aside the fabric of reality itself allows Sharon to create portals through any curtain or cloak, teleporting themselves or others anywhere in an instant.
The Serbian
The gruff bouncer of Broken Land, traumatized by war and loyal to the death to his boss Sharron. Able to create triplicate forms of his Aura and communicate instantly between them. He’s all the security the club needs.
Cyrus
Theo’s old boss, the shady owner of glitzy bottle service club GR€€D. A British bastard with a quick temper, money and a thick neck jammed into an athletic cut suit.
The Erins
Twin-like cocktail waitresses at GR€€D and their innocent new recruit, all named Erin. But where do you think they hang out after hours?
The Broken
The “black rainbow” of clubbers, artists, weirdos and misfit toys that call Broken Land their home. Every color, creed, and gender there is, united in their love of techno, Rust, and the color black.
